  17. INTRODUCTION
  18.  
  19. Reveille is a program that will play musical tunes, either on demand
  20. while it is running, or at start-up using command line parameters sent
  21. it by a separate timer or scheduler application.  If you wish, you may
  22. specify a reminder message in the command line that starts the program,
  23. and Reveille will display it in the Status Label at the bottom of the
  24. Reveille window.  The tunes are stored in simple ASCII text files that
  25. emulate BASIC "play" strings.  You may create and/or edit tune files
  26. (in the Reveille ".ply" format) from within Reveille (or using any
  27. plain-ASCII text editor), and you may compile and save groups of tunes
  28. as compilation files.

  30. Reveille is being distributed along with Reveille Timer, a scheduler
  31. program (to demonstrate Reveille's command line parameters, for those
  32. who do not own a timer already).  Reveille Timer will start up a
  33. program at a specified time each day (as long as Reveille Timer is
  34. running at that time).  While Reveille Timer was designed primarily to
  35. demonstrate the use of command line parameters for running Reveille, it
  36. is capable of starting any other application at a set time, as well.
  37. In addition, Reveille Timer may be used to set the system clock's time.

  39. This file is being included along with the unregistered versions of
  40. Reveille and Reveille Timer, which are being distributed as
  41. "shareware", for evaluation purposes only.  You are entitled to install
  42. Reveille and Reveille Timer on one computer, and to "test-drive" the
  43. programs for a 30-day trial period.  If you wish to give Reveille
  44. and/or Reveille Timer a more permanent home on your computer's hard
  45. disk, then you must register your use of the program(s).  You would
  46. then be entitled to a copy of the latest version(s) of the program(s)
  47. (without any "reminder screens"), more complete documentation, and (for
  48. Reveille registration) additional ".ply" tune files.

  50. INDIVIDUAL USER REGISTRATION

  52. Registration fees for Individual Licenses are as follows: Separately,
  53. Reveille may be registered for $12.95 (plus $5.00 shipping and
  54. handling;  Reveille Timer may be registered for $9.95 (plus $5.00 s&h).
  55. Or, the two programs may be registered together for $19.95 (plus $5.00
  56. s&h).  You may use the registration form at the end of this document
  57. (or you may simply print the separate orderfrm.txt document);  if you
  58. prefer, you may provide all of the registration information in a
  59. separate letter.

  61. An Individual License for either Reveille or Reveille Timer entitles
  62. the registered user to install that program on any computer(s) that
  63. he/she personally owns, but he/she must NOT allow his/her registered
  64. copy of that program to be installed or used on any other computer(s).

  66. SITE LICENSE REGISTRATION
  67.  
  68. A Site License for either Reveille or Reveille Timer entitles the
  69. registered institution (school building, business location,
  70. organization headquarters, etc.) to install that program on any
  71. computer(s) belonging to that institution at that particular location,
  72. but registered copies of that program may NOT be distributed beyond the
  73. boundaries of that particular location.  Furthermore, a copy of
  74. Reveille or Reveille Timer that is registered to an individual user may
  75. be installed on his/her own computer at an institution, but that
  76. individually licensed copy of Reveille or Reveille Timer may NOT be be
  77. installed on any other computer(s) at that institution (for this a Site
  78. License would be required).

  80. Registration fees for Site Licenses are as follows:  Separately,
  81. Reveille may be registered for $49.95 (plus $5.00 shipping and
  82. handling);  Reveille Timer may be registered for $29.95 (plus $5.00
  83. s&h).   Or, the two programs may be registered together for $59.95
  84. (plus $5.00 s&h).  You may use the registration form at the end of this
  85. document (or you may simply print out the separate orderfrm.txt
  86. document);  if you prefer, you may provide all of the registration
  87. information in a separate letter or purchase order.

  89. PROGRAM DISTRIBUTION

  91. While registered copies of Reveille and Reveille Timer may NOT be used
  92. by any other than the registered individual or institution, any person
  93. is permitted (and, in fact, encouraged) to distribute the UNregistered,
  94. "shareware" versions of Reveille and Reveille Timer to others, as long
  95. as ALL of their files (specifically including the register.wri file)
  96. are distributed together (preferably bundled in the rvle-10.zip form).
